The Club's e-Learning tools are specifically designed to be "user friendly" for seafarers and office personnel on relevant safety and environmental protection related topics. All modules are accessible wherever there is a connection to the Internet, or through the shipboard Plug and Play system, thus making it easy and convenient for seafarers to study the subject matter before they join their ships. The system also includes a secure online testing facility.
Members can track their seafarers' knowledge and keep up-to-date records of familiarization training in compliance with the STCW Convention, environmental regulations and the company's safety management system requirements under the ISM Code.
All e-Learning tools and aids are free of charge to Club Members. The following programs are available to Members via the website: https://secure.idessonline.com/americanclub/facility
The Club's e-Learning tools were developed in cooperation with the International Development and Environmental Shipping School Interactive Technologies, Inc. (IDESS IT, Inc.) in Subic Bay, Philippines. For non-Members, these tools are available for purchase from IDESS IT, Inc. via their website at http://www.idessinteractive.com
Members should access the website https://secure.idessonline.com/americanclub/facility. At this point, Members are requested to verify that they have Super Administrator access for the Member's account. This information is passed on to the Club for verification before the Super Administrator's account can be activated and the Member will be notified via email of their account information as provided.
This is done by checking the tick box "Administration/Training Records" and thereafter clicking the "Super Administrator" in the drop down box entitled "ACCESS LEVEL". A hyperlink will appear just below the request for registration as "First Time User? Click here to register."
Plug-and Play for Shipboard Training
For Members who would like the option of training aboard ship or at those locations where there is no broadband connection to the Internet, there is the option of using the "Plug and Play" (PnP) system. The PnP system is more convenient for seafarers to access the learning modules onboard ship. Members can still track their seafarers' knowledge as the off-line system has a facility to export results and update records in the online server.
The portable hard drive can be purchased by visiting:
